Lisbon community effort helps families left homeless by fire

LISBON – Members of Positive Change Lisbon, together with local business leaders and students from Lisbon high and middle schools, helped raise money for two families in town who were left homeless by a fire.
The spaghetti dinner, held at the Lisbon Parks and Recreation MTM Center on Feb. 11, raised nearly $4,000 for the Briere and Tremblay families. Each was presented a check for $1,900 on Feb. 17 from money raised from the dinner.
Instrumental in the community effort were the police and fire departments, Town Manager Glenn Michalowski, Town Council Chair Harry Moore, businesses and volunteers who donated their time and services, including Sippy Cup Consignment, Sausage Kitchen, Grazi To Go, Lil’ Jam Cookies, Springworks Farm, Lisbon Parks and Recreation Department and many others.
