Heavy rain Tuesday washed out Newell Brook Road (Route 9) in Durham where it crosses Dyer Brook, forcing traffic to reroute to Plummer Mill Road, about a three-mile detour, to get to Lisbon. Maine Department of Transportation was on-site Tuesday assessing the situation, and there was no word yet on whether there would be a long-term traffic issue. (Durham Fire and Rescue photo)
