LISBON FALLS – The 13th annual Lisbon Harvest Festival will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the MTM Rec Center, 18 School St.
The festival is organized by Positive Change Lisbon and provides an opportunity for local nonprofit groups to raise money for their programs, as well as for attendees to show community support.
The Harvest Festival is free and open to the public. Games and activities require a range of one to four tickets, 50 cents each. There are also free activities, including balloon twisting, raffles, competitions, a children’s costume parade and pumpkin carving contest. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 30.
“The day of the festival was cold and rainy last year. We did not have a rain date to fall back on so we thought it would need to be cancelled,” said Lynette Carver, festival coordinator. “I called every single group to see if they would be willing to participate in spite of the weather and possible low turnout. All but one group said yes, so they set up tents for their activities and we all hoped for the best. This amazing community we call our home did not disappoint! To our grateful surprise, we had a wonderful turnout in spite of the weather. I’ve never been more proud of Lisbon’s community spirit!”
Positive Change Lisbon is a nonprofit organization of business owners, residents and government officials who work together to continue to make Lisbon a wonderful place to live, do business and recreate.
