Litchfield Legion holds appreciation luncheon for female veterans

Aug. 232021

LITCHFIELD — More than 40 female veterans gathered at American Legion Post 181 on Aug. 7 to enjoy lunch and gifts, hear speakers, make crafts and meet other women who have served in the armed forces.
The appreciation luncheon for women who have served in the armed forces was the first luncheon to be held at Post 181, and the first overall since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020. A Quilt of Valor, made by Joann Bolduc, was presented to Navy veteran Phyllis Paige at the event.
The luncheon was organized by Deb Couture, commander of American Legion Maine and a Post 181 member.
