Durham scholarship applications due March 5

DURHAM — The town awards one $1,000 college scholarship annually, and is accepting applications with a deadliine of 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 5.
The scholarship is paid directly to the recipient after he or she completes the first semester of college, with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Recipients are limited to one scholarship award. The town reserves the right to award no scholarship if there are no qualified applicants.
Applications will be reviewed and finalists chosen by the Durham Scholarship Committee. Applications and supporting documentation should be sent to: Durham Town Offices, Attn: Scholarship Committee, 630 Hallowell Road, Durham, ME 04222.
The scholarship award is presented around the time of the annual Town Meeting in April. All scholarship applicants will be notified by mail of the committee’s decision by mail before to April 1.
