Durham town offices open with limited hours, other measures

DURHAM — The town offices are open to the general public with limited hours.
The offices are open from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday.
Offices are also open by appointment earlier in the day on the days they are open for those 65 and older, at-risk populations and couples wishing to get a marriage license. The hours for the appointments are 8 a.m. to noon Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday Call 207-353-2561 to schedule an appointment.
Town offices will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25.
The following policies will help keep everyone safe:
* One customer at a time will be allowed to enter the town offices.
* If you see a resident completing a transaction, leave the building and line up outside, follow proper social distancing and stand six feet apart as indicated by the red markings on the sidewalk.
* If you do not see a resident in the building, knock on the door.
* All residents must wear a face mask at the town offices, per the governor’s executive order.
* Those residents coming to the town offices are asked to bring all necessary paperwork for their transaction, as well as their own pen.
* Those registering a vehicle are asked to be sure to bring their insurance card. Those who don’t have one will be asked to return to the end of the line to wait for their insurance company to fax a copy of the card to the office.
* Do not risk the health and safety of others; if you do not feel well or are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, stay home.
