LISBON — The Lisbon Coombs-Mountfort American Legion Post 158 had been planning this day for some time. At least two years ago, I remember hearing discussions about how bad the BBQ shed was looking.
So the Legion put It on the list (this was a long list consisting of a complete rehab of the post home, a smoking deck for members and then the BBQ shed rehab). Well, it took two years to work off the list, but the shed finally made it.

The Legion had preselected about a dozen legionaries to do the job. We had told them the start time was 9 a.m., and most of them made it on time, there are always those few stragglers.
Armand Marcouillier and Richard Everettestarted the prep work (scraping off the loose paint), then everyone got down to work, with Marcouillier enjoying the supervisor job. Kenny Withers and Commander Ron Saindon led the cleanup effort.
The entire crew consisted of Jerry Smith, Saindon, Rick Hester, Dawn Hester, Denis Pratt, Brian Hess, Withers, Paul Saindon, Montana Watson, Marcouillier, Everette, Jack LaChance, Second Vice Commander Joe St Amont (who cooked up hamburgers and hot dogs for the crew) and Ann LaChance (who served up beverages). ll in all it was a good day, good teamwork, with my special thanks to Joe and Ann for their efforts.
