4-H Craft Fair and Fall Fest in Litchfield raises money for program

LITCHFIELD – The Kennebec University of Maine Extension 4-H program is hosting a free craft fair and fall fest from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Carrie Ricker Elementary School.

The community event will have more than 30 local vendors and crafters, plus many “make-it, take it” activities for any age, including face painting, traditional stamping and straw rockets. At 1 p.m. there will be a costume contest with prizes for everyone under 18 years old.
Every year the Kennebec County 4-H program sends young people to Atlanta, Ga., and Washington D.C. for leadership building experiences, and this fundraiser will help support youth attending Citizenship Washington Focus and National 4-H Congress. 4-H programs include the traditional agriculture programs, but also have expanded into the arts, science and healthy living. Attendees will get to see a little bit of everything 4-H offers at the Fall Fest.
