LISBON — Although the day started out with overcast skies, American Legion Post 158 held its annual Family Day Aug. 12, with outstanding attendance, noted post historian B. J. Govang.
Lisbon firefighter David Judd, who brought a firetruck, and Shawn Kelly of the Lisbon Police Department, along with a cruiser, were there to welcome guests as they arrived.
Activities included a water slide — packed with eager children for most of the day — good eats by Vaughn Simard, referred to as the “grill master” by fellow legionaires, a watermelon bomb and a dunk tank.
“I feel the (members of) Lisbon American Legion Post 158 did a fine job this Family Day,” said Govang, following a three-hour stint of taking photos and visiting with attendees. “Everyone here had fun, especially the children.”
