Aug. 132018

BOWDOIN — The Bowdoin Fire Department’s Women’s Auxiliary will hold its fall garage sale, bake sale and raffle Saturday, Sept. 22.
They are looking for those interested in renting tables, including crafters.

The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, inside the fire department garage, on Cornish Drive, off Main Street and next to the town hall.
Table rentals for the are $10 each and can be reserved by calling Alberta Greenleaf at 207-666-5752 or Patty Elwell at 207-666-5974. Crafters are also welcome to rent tables at this sale. Tables are 8 feet, and all goods must be placed on the table or on the floor under the table to avoid tripping hazards and vendors are urged to rent enough tables to display their goods. Doors will be open for vendor set-up at 8 a.m.
In addition to the bake sale, steamed hot dogs with all the fixings will be available for purchase as well as chips and both hot and cold beverages.
All vendors receive free hot coffee.
Raffle tickets can be bought ahead of time from members of the auxiliary or on the day of the event. Drawings for the raffle prizes will be held at 2 p.m. Ticket holders need not be present to win.

HOUSE SIGNS AVAILABLE
In addition to the Sept. 22 sale, the auxiliary and the Bowdoin Volunteer Fire Department are still offering two-sided, reflective metal signs with street number displayed for $15.
These will help the fire department and 911 responders easily find a residence in an emergency — day or night. Signs are dark blue with white letters and are available to both Bowdoin residents and those who are not residents. Payment is made at the time of ordering, and those buying a sign will be notified when the sign is ready.
