DaPonte String Quartet to perform in Brunswick March 25

Feb. 102018

DAMARISCOTTA — The DaPonte String Quartet’s second series of the season takes listeners on a stroll through Vienna, home to the world’s oldest amusement park (the Prater), in company with some of the Austrian capital’s most powerful musical prodigies: Joseph Haydn, Alban Berg and Ludwig van Beethoven.
“A Stroll in the Prater” has five performances, from March 18 to 25, in Damariscotta, Portland, Rockport, Boothbay Harbor and Brunswick.

The Brunswick performance will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at the Unitarian Church, 15 Plesant St.
The DaPonte String Quartet is Maine’s premier string ensemble. Founded in 1991 in Philadelphia, it moved to Maine over 20 years ago and now performs more than 50 times a year state-wide and year-round, as well as touring the Northeast.
For ticket information, visit www.DaPonte.org. They are available online or at Sherman’s Books in Damariscotta, Camden, and Boothbay Harbor; Longfellow Books in Portland; or Gulf of Maine Books in Brunswick.
