LISBON — The town government has launched a new webiste that town leaders say will serve residents, visitors and businesses better.
The website, which retains the address www.lisbonme.org, was designed with the goals of a clean and simple appearance, ease of navigation and content and functionality that was driven by the needs of the end users – residents, businesses, investors and visitors, according to a news release from the town government.
The new website has a number of new features, such as the ability to submit a service request, Find It Fast button, easy access to online forms and documents, online payments, sign up for e-alerts and an Emergency Banner to send out emergency news to the residents and businesses.
The site is also designed to be responsive so that it is easy to view on any type of device including smart phones and tablets. In addition, the new website meets the Americans with Disabilities Act and includes accessibility features such as a screen reader and the ability to change font size and contrast.
The development of a new website was approved as part of the Town Council’s commitment to improving communication, openness and transparency, the news release said. Following a competitive process in the spring of 2017, the project was awarded to Virtual Towns & Schools.
