REAL ESTATE TIP: What’s the purpose of the final walk-through?

A final walk-through is not required but highly recommended and one of the last steps to closing on a home and transferring ownership.
It is also the last opportunity for the buyer to verify the home is in similar condition to what it was when the offer to purchase was accepted. The ideal time is after the seller has removed all furnishings out and completed any promised repairs.

The buyer wants to ensure all appliances are still there, repairs are complete and all systems are still in working order. While there may be minor damage from the move-out process, that should not stop the sale from happening. If major issues are found, the buyer can refuse to close until the issues are taken care of, or it can kill the sale at the last minute.
