The William R. Bold American Legion Post 181 in Litchfield held a special Veterans Day event on Nov. 11, honoring World War II and Korean War veterans by presenting them with eagle canes. The canes are handmade by Donna and George Gunning and include the veteran’s branch and dates of service, name, and all medals received. The Post 181 veterans who received the canes are pictured in the first row, from left, William Quackenbush (World War II), Harold Blen (World War II), George Perry (Korea), Keith Estabrook (World War II/Korea), Malcolm Harvey (World War II/Korea/Vietnam), and Leo Small (World War II). In the back row are Post 181 members Randall Furbish, Ron Dixon, Debra Couture, Ernie Rowe, Scott Bailey, Roger Line, Glenn Bowman, Greg Couture, Michael Sherman, Normand Bernier and Carlton Tripp. Nunzio Biondello, a World War II veteran, was the guest speaker.
