Blues musicians donate $2,000 to scholarship fund

LISBON FALLS — Maine-based blues musicians recently donated $2,000 to Lisbon Falls High School for the 2017 Maine Blues Musicians’ Scholarships. The scholarships are awarded in the spring to graduating seniors at Lisbon High School.

The money is raised by fundraisers and performances by blues musicians at the Worumbo Blues Festival (a Maine Blues Festival production) held each year in Lisbon Falls.

This year’s blues performers included the Larry Peterson Blues Project, Blues in the Works, members of Downeast Soul Coalition, Poke Chop and the Other White Meats and Blue Steel Express.
