LISBON — On November 22, Girl Scout Junior Troop 2240 held a tea party to teach future women leaders from Lisbon social style and the art of etiquette.
The troop has been working on their Social Butterfly Badge and as part of this badge these scouts have been learning how to do things politely, use proper table manners, be prepared for special occasions, say thank you, and practice being at ease in public settings. This tea party finished their “Social Butterfly” requirements, propelling them closer to their goal of bridging up to the next level of girl scouting.
With these scouts, the old saying of “girls will be girls” might have to be restated: “ladies will be ladies.” One day, these young ladies will be the face of Lisbon and will understand the meaning of civility.
