LISBON – The Lisbon Sunshine Hill Neighbors and the Lisbon Parks and Recreation department have planned some trips for the upcoming year.
A coach bus to Cabane a Sucre Megantic in Lac Megantic Quebec, is scheduled for March 23. The visit will include a great Canadian meal with entertainment. The return trip will include a stop at the Fromage La Chaudiere store, where visitors can buy cheese, including cheese curds, and aple syrup products and gifts. Passports are required for this trip.
There are three overnight bus trips planned for this year, with the cost of the trip including the bus, lodging, some meals and planned events.
May 18-24 to Washington, D.C., including a day in Gettysburg. There will be two days of guided tours in Washington, including the World War II memorial, Capitol Hill, Embassy Row, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Martin Luther King Memorial, Lincoln Memorial and two free afternoons to visit the Smithsonian and other museums. A tram ride through Arlington National Cemetery and the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Six breakfasts and four dinners are included.
The fall trip will be to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Sept. 10-15. Three nights will be in Niagara Falls, Ontario and will include five breakfasts and three full-course dinners. Activities include the Hornblower Maid of the Mist boat ride and tour of the falls, a visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Welland Canal, the Floral Clock and time at the Niagara Fallsview Casino. There will also be a day tour of Toronto, including a harbor cruise with views of the skyline, waterfront and Toronto Islands. Passports are required for the trip.
The third trip is New York City Nov. 26-28, to see the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular, with a back door tour of Radio City Music Hall. The trip also will include guided tours of Lower Manhattan, Times Square, Little Italy, Chinatown, Greenwich Village and the Financial district. A visit to the 9/11 Memorial Museum is included, and there will be free time to shop, take a horse and carriage ride through Central Park and more. The trip includes two nights lodging, two breakfasts and one dinner, as well as all tour tickets, including the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular show.
