Durham town manager search narrowing down

DURHAM — According to Select Board Chair Kevin Nadeau, the search process for the town’s first town manager is being narrowed down, and there will soon be two or three finalists.
“We received a total of 39 applications for the position,” Nadeau said. “David Barrett, our consultant from the Maine Municipal Association, forwarded applications for the top 14 candidates to each member of the Durham Select Board. The 14 candidates were determined based on the candidate profile developed from public comments and interviews with Board members.”
Select board members reviewed the applications independently and identified the six candidates and on March 9, met to compare the selections and determine a list of candidates to invite for first-round interviews. They interviews took place the week of March 15.
The select board will determine a two or three finalists for second-round interviews. Candidates will also interview separately with two other panels: a panel of volunteer residents and a panel of town employees. The two panels will report to the select board.
Durham residents are encouraged to contact any select board member with questions or comments, Nadeau said.
