Gelato Scooping April 4 to benefit Orion Performing Arts Center

Mar. 112017

BRUNSWICK — The Orion Performing Arts Center, School District #75’s theater inside Mt. Ararat Middle School, will hold a delicious event Tuesday, April 4: “Scooping for Community” at Gelato Fiasco. Showing the coupon to the cashier at Gelato Fiasco, 74 Maine St., Brunswick, ensures the company will donate 100 percent of the purchase back to the theater group’s capital needs fund.

The Orion Advisory Committee is raising money to improve curtains, lights and sound systems at the theater. These improvements will make the stage more attractive and useful for performances and community groups. Flyers are available at the Mt. Ararat Middle School or can be downloaded from the Orion’s website, www.orionperformingartscenter.org.

Gelato Fiasco, is open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Gelato dishes, coffee, tea, waffle cones, single-serving fancy desserts, Create-a-Pints, and Mystery Pints are eligible for this promotion. Gifts, cookies, tax, gift cards, coffee beans, The Fiasco, and freezer pints are not. Flyers to support the Orion can’t be distributed at the store, so get yours in advance!

The Orion Performing Arts Center cultivates an appreciation and understanding of performing arts — dance, music, and drama — in our schools and communities. For people of all ages, the Orion provides a cultural beacon in the region, allowing everyone to experience fine live performances, both amateur and professional. It hosts school band, chorus and drama productions as well as community groups such as Midcoast Symphony, Midcoast Youth Theater, Down East Dance Festival, The Ballet School, Maine Coast Heritage Trust land conservation conference, The Moving Co. Dance Studio and more.
