LITCHFIELD — Students at Carrie Ricker School will hold a “Retiring and Celebrating Our Flag” celebration on Thursday, June 14, which is Flag Day.
The event begins at 9:30 a.m., and there will be presentations and songs by students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Those attending are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue. Awards will be given out during the ceremony for winners of the Flag Day Contests.
Members of the public who have American flags that are faded or damaged may send them to school or bring them on June 14 where they will be properly retired as part of the ceremony.
