LISBON — The Sunshine Hill Neighbors Seniors along with the Lisbon Recreation are offering three great trips for 2017. Two of the trips are nine-day bus trips; the third is an 11-day Alaskan cruise tour on the Island Princess, a four-day land tour followed by a seven-day cruise. All trips are open to any age group.
Our first trip is a trip to Mackinac Island in northern Michigan June 10 to 18 with a stop at Niagara Falls State Park. You will need a passport card or passport to get into Canada. We will then travel to Michigan, where we will be checking into our hotel for a four-night stay.
We will be visiting the following sites while we are there: Sault Sainte Mari with a cruise through the Soo Locks; a guided tour of Mackinaw City; visit colonial Michillimackinac, a 1700s-era village, and Fort de Baude Museum, and have free time in the lakeside village of Saint Ignace. The highlight of this trip will be taking the ferryboat ride over to Mackinac Island where we will enjoy a guided tour of the island by horse and carriage where you will see sites like Arch rock and Lilac Lane. On our return home we will be stopping at Frankenmeuth, Michigan’s little Bavaria and the Woodstock Museum.
Included in the price of this trip is eight nights of lodging, 14 meals, eight breakfasts and six dinners, all guided tours, coach transportation (provided by Northeast Charter) and all the attractions listed above. An added bonus to this trip is that we will be visiting during the Lilac Festival. Cost of this trip is $769 per person double occupancy. To date we only have six seats left for this trip.
Our second trip is an 11-day trip to Alaska, a seven-day cruise upon the Island Princess and four-day land cruise. We will be flying into Fairbanks, where we will enjoy the Alaska Riverways and Discovery Gold Tours, then we will travel via coach to Denali Park for two days, where you will have the opportunity to take a tour into the park to see wildlife.
From there we will take a rail journey to Whittier to board the ship. After boarding the ship we will take the inside passage to visit Hubbard Glacier and Glacier Bay Scenic Cruising, Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan to our final destination of Vancouver. This is guaranteed to be a vacation of a lifetime. The cost of this trip starts at $2,499 a person double occupancy, interior room, plus flights. Our last trip is to Nashville, Tenn., for Nov. 4 to 12 from the MTM Center. Our en route stop will be the Woodrow Wilson Museum. The next day we will arrive in Nashville for a four-night stay.
While in Nashville we will be enjoying a guide tour of Nashville, including a photo stop at the Parthenon, a ride the delta flatboats inside the Opryland Hotel, a guided tour of Belle Meade Plantation and free time to explore historic downtown Nashville. Enjoy a dinner show at the Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theatre, behind-the-scenes back-stage tour and show at the Grand Ole Opry, entrance into the Country Music Hall of Fame and a Diamond tours dinner party and entertainment.
Included are eight breakfasts and six dinners. The cost of this trip is $954 per person double occupancy.
A $75 per person double occupancy is required to hold your post for either of the two bus trips.
