PITTSFIELD – Members of Scout Venture Crew 2713 provided 24 hours of community service with Midcoast Habitat for Humanity in Rockport on March 11.
The efforts of the Scouts will help Habitat for Humanity provide long-lasting and life-changing support for the households in the program. At the same time, Scouts had an opportunity to serve their community and develop personal skills.
Venturing is a co-ed program for Scouts ages 14 through 20. Venture Crew 2713 is regional, with members from Standish, Hermon, The Forks, Pittsfield and Hope. The unit focus is “adventure,” said Venture Crew Advisor Shelley Connolly, of Pittsfield. “We’re pretty much up for anything, but also have busy personal lives. We are committed to community service, personal development and broadening our experiences. We continually accept new members and no previous scouting experience is required.”
