ALFRED – MES Foundation will begin accepting online applications for the 2023 Richard H. Pierce Memorial Scholarship on Jan. 1
The foundation awards 10 $5,000 scholarships to Maine students entering their first year of post-secondary education in fall 2023. Deadline for application is April 1, and the scholarship is renewable for up to four years.
To apply, a student must be a Maine resident entering the year of post-secondary education; intend to enroll, or be enrolled in a two- or four-year degree-granting college or university accredited by the Association of Schools and Colleges; show a strong desire to complete degree program.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence demonstrated by the content of the applicant’s transcript, GPA and SAT; contributions to school, community, or work environment; demonstrated financial need; two letters of recommendation; a personal essay of 300 words or more.
