LEWISTON — Champoux Insurance Group has earned a 2022 Make More Happen Award, recognizing its volunteerism with Make-A-Wish Maine and commitment to making a positive community impact.
The award includes an initial $5,000 donation to Make-A-Wish Maine, with a chance to double the amount to $10,000. It’s up to the community to vote for Champoux at www.agentgiving.com/Champoux-Insurance-Agency by Oct. 31 to increase the amount of the award.
The Make More Happen award is selected by Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance and given to up to 37 independent insurance agencies nationwide a year that are committed to a nonprofit cause.
Champoux Insurance and Make-A-Wish Maine are spotlighted on the official Make More Happen site at www.agentgiving.com/Champoux-Insurance-Agency, and supporters can vote to help the team reach its donation goal. If the featured story receives at least 500 votes — shares to social media and comments on their story — the donation will be increased to $10,000. Make-A-Wish Maine serves children in 16 counties and this $10,000 donation will allow it to grant one wish to a child in Maine who has been diagnosed with a critical illness.
“This organization profoundly helps children with lifelong illnesses have moments and memories that put a smile on their face and Champoux Insurance Agency is truly honored to advocate for their great cause,” said Kacey LePage, Champoux account executive. “We are forever grateful to receive this Make More Happen Award from Liberty Mutual and Safeco to provide Make-A-Wish Maine with much needed funds to continue their impactful work.”
LePage started as an event volunteer with Make-A-Wish Maine seven years ago, and is now on the board for the annual Summer Block Party committee and is a wish-granter, helping facilitate children’s wishes. Her team members also volunteer and assist with fundraising efforts to support local wishes.
“It warms our hearts to see the endless dedication our agents have for their nonprofit partners through their volunteering, fundraising and overall awareness efforts,” said Stephanie Davis ,Safeco Insurance Northeast Region senior territory manager. “The Make More Happen Awards allow our agents to make an even greater impact in Maine and we hope it motivates others to do the same.”
