WATERVILLE – New Dimensions FCU is celebrating National Credit Union Youth Month in April by offering fun learning activities at local schools.
The credit union is also conducting a savings challenge for all youth savings accounts opened in April. New this year, New Dimensions is engaging students in a Facebook Youth Trivia challenge, with prizes and giveaways to encourage healthy financial habits. The credit union encourages all youth members to participate in any of the following activities.
National Savings Challenge
Throughout April, all youth under 18 who open a youth savings account and make a deposit will receive a LEGO bank. In addition, all youth members who make a deposit in April will be entered in the Credit Union National Association Savings Challenge drawing to win $100. Winners will be drawn in May.
Facebook Trivia
Like NDFCU on Facebook and watch for the weekly youth trivia questions throughout April. The credit union will post financial-related trivia questions on the page each Friday morning. All individuals under 18 who answer the question correctly by the following Thursday will win swag items available for pickup at their chosen branch location. Correct entries will also be put into a drawing for a $50 VISA Gift Card, which will be drawn the second week of May.
Education
Our certified financial coach will visit local schools with hands-on financial education activities. These activities will be specific to the grade level and help show the importance of financial wellness in a fun and interactive way. We will have activities such as “Grow Your Money” for kindergarten through 6th graders, vision boards for 7th and 8th grade, and “How to be a Savvy Shopper” for high schoolers.
As a financial institution, New Dimensions FCU understands the power of financial education and the importance of introducing it to students at the earliest age possible. They are excited to celebrate their young members in April with the life-changing financial literacy tool!
