BRUNSWICK – The Alfred M. Senter Fund Committee is soliciting requests for grants from private charities that serve Bath, Brunswick, Durham, Lisbon, Harpswell, Topsham or West Bath.
The fund was established by Alfred Senter to provide money to charities that promote the cultural, educational, environmental and general health and welfare of residents of those towns. The fund does not award grants supporting annual operating budgets or to add to the endowment of nonprofit organizations.
Applications be submitted by mail with an original and five copies by Oct. 31. To get an application form, contact Senter Place Management Office at 207-725-6610, email senterplace@gmail.com or visit www.senterplace.com.
Senter was the owner of Senter’s Department Store on Maine Street and the Greenery Restaurant. The property is now Senter Place and occupied by businesses that offer services to the public. The net income from Senter Place contributes to the Alfred M. Senter Fund, from which the grants are made.
