In-person events return to Belgrade Public Library with Irene Drago author talk

A presentation by Bath author Irene Drago on May 26 was the Belgrade Public Library’s first in-person author event since the COVID-19 pandemic began more than two years ago. Drago talked about her historical fiction “Daughters of the Long Reach,” and “The Maine Point,” and the connections between local history and our lives now and how she weaves them into her fiction. More in-person events are planned in the coming months, including an open house from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 2, to kick off the 2022 Community Read. Stop in to meet the library staff and trustees and hear about the Community Read and other programs. You can borrow a copy of the Community Read book, “The Lowering Days,” by Gregory Brown, at the event, or simply find out more about the book and what else the library has going on. Light refreshments will be served. (Maureen Milliken photo)
