Belgrade mystery writer is Maine 2020 Reading Connection guest March 21

BATH — Belgrade myster writer Maureen Milliken will be the guest of the Maine 2020 Reading Connection series at 7 p.m. Monday, March 21, via Zoom.

Milliken is the author of the Bernie O’Dea mystery series, which takes place in Franklin County. Myster writer Paul Doiron has described Milliken’s series as “masterful storytelling.”
The topic of the discussion will be the third book in the series, “Bad News Travels Fast.” When Appalachian Trail thru-hiker Lydia Manzo becomes lost in the woods of Franklin County, then is found dead, it sets off a chain of events that upsets the fragile peace of the town of Redimere. Maine’s northwestern High Peaks region can be a dark wilderness, but they suddenly seem very crowded as newspaper editor Bernadette “Bernie” O’Dea tries to discover what happend to Lydia and why Police Chief Pete Novotny has also disappeared.
Readers don’t have to have read the first two books, or even “Bad News Travels Fast” to enjoy the discussion.
