RICHMOND – Family nurse practitioner Andrew Alexander has joined the Richmond Area Health Center, HealthReach recently announced.
Alexander looks forward to providing medical care to his hometown of Richmond and the surrounding communities, he said.. He brings experience from both direct patient care and larger operational and training efforts at various hospitals.
Alexander earned a master of science in nursing degree at Walden University in Minnesota, and an undergraduate nursing degree at the University of New England in Biddeford. He has 15 years of experience as a registered nurse in a variety of settings. He recently completed his final clinical rotation at the Richmond Area Health Center while training under Melissa Hackett, nurse practitioner. “Andy will be a tremendous asset to the HealthReach team,” the company’s officials said in a news release.
Besides Hackett, Alexander joins soon-to-retire physician Linda Hermans, podiatrist Henry Scheuller, and nurse practitioners Tom Bartol and Jessica Krol. Richmond Area Health Center clinicians offer medical and behavioral health services, serving patients of all ages. Since 1977, the center has served residents and visitors from Richmond, Gardiner, Litchfield, Dresden, Bowdoinham and Augusta and its surrounding communities.
HealthReach is a private non-profit with a 45-year history, funded by patient fees, grants and by the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
