Kennebec Savings Bank names new VP and commercial banking officer

AUGUSTA — Kennebec Savings Bank has hired Ian McCarthy as vice president and commercial banking officer.
In his role, McCarthy will be responsible for commercial lending, relationship management and business development at the bank’s Freeport location.
“We are pleased to welcome Ian to the KSB team,” said Andrew Silsby, bank president and CEO. “His extensive background in commercial banking and strong understanding of the needs of our local business community will be a valuable asset to our customers, present and future.”
Before joining KSB, McCarthy worked at Key Bank in various capacities over the past 11 years, which included retail management and commercial lending positions. He volunteers as a board member for the Pine Tree Society and as a coach for his local high school basketball team.
“I am so pleased to be a new member of the commercial lending team at KSB,” McCarthy said. “As a Central Maine native, I am truly excited to be working for a community-focused bank with a strong reputation for working side by side with customers to help them achieve their financial goals.”
