Wreaths Across American Mobile Exhibit coming to central, Midcoast Maine

COLUMBIA FALLS — Wreaths Across America’s Mobile Education Exhibit will make several tour stops in Maine, including in Brunswick, Durham and Gardiner.
“The goal of the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit is to bring community together and teach patriotism while remembering the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes,” said Karen Worcester, executive director, Wreaths Across America. “Over the last year, we feel this exhibit has taken on even more meaning by providing the opportunity for people to safely participate in something that is both educational and inspiring, while supporting and giving back to the communities it visits.”
The MEE brings the community, veterans, active-duty military and their families together through interactive exhibits, short film and shared stories. The exhibit is a mobile museum, educating visitors about the service as well as serving as an official “welcome home” station for Vietnam neterans.
Brunswick, Friday, July 2, hosted by American Legion Post 20 and town of Brunswick, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. the event will include a farmer’s market, performance of the 195th Army Band and events at the new Veterans Memorial on the Mall. The MEE will be at Fitch Place, at the south end of Maine Street near the gazebo.
Durham, Sunday July 25, hosted by Amvets Post 13, and will include a car show, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1149 Royalsborough Road.
Gardiner, Monday, July 26, hosted by the town of Gardiner, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Gardiner Waterfront Park.
