Maine SBA names Sturgeon district director

AUGUSTA — The U.S. Small Business Administration has named Diane Sturgeon district director for the Maine District Office.
Sturgeon has worked for the SBA for nine years in the Maine District Office, and most as the deputy district director.
“I’m honored to be chosen for this role and very excited to continue to work with the incredible SBA team at the Maine District Office and the tremendous economic development and lending partners we are so lucky to have here in Maine” Sturgeon said.
Sturgeon joined the SBA in April 2012 as lender relations specialist and has more than 10 years of banking experience, having worked in a variety of roles for both community and national lenders. She succeeds Amy Bassett, who held the position of district director for Maine from January of 2017 until December.
In her role as district director, Sturgeon will be responsible for the delivery of SBA’s financial assistance, entrepreneurial development, and contracting programs throughout the state.
