Treat Library new book club series begins in April

LIVERMORE FALLS — Treat Memorial Library’s new book club series, Books About Books, starts this month. The series will be all about books, book lovers, libraries and bookstores.
The first selection is “The Bookish Life of Nina Hill,” by Abbi Waxman, and the discussion will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 8, via Zoom. Contact the staff for a copy of the book up for discussion and the Zoom link.
The library will be closed on Tuesday, April 20, in observance of Patriots Day.
New arrivals at Treat Memorial Library this month include “The Midnight Library,” by Matt Haig, the young adult fantasy “The Gilded Ones,” by Namina Forna and the picture book “Ambitious Girl,” by Meena Harris.

The library will also be raising money for its garden and book fund with a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $5 for 10 and $1 per individual ticket. Contact the library at 207-897-3631 to buy tickets. The winner will be announced at the end of April.
Those missing travel may take a journey in their imagination with the Armchair Traveler Game on Facebook at 1 p.m. every Tuesday. The library provides the continent, date, compass direction and weather. The rest of the journey is yours to decide.
Online Story Time is 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday, where staff shares some of their favorite picture books, rhymes, and songs. This month, as we look forward to warmer days, it will include some suggestions for outdoor activities that the family can do together
Every Thursday is at 4 p.m. on Facebook the topic will be “Books: Past and Present.” Staff will talk about some favorite childhood books and pick a modern book that gives the same feeling. What were some of your favorites? Let the library known on Facebook!
The library is open for browsing and computer use by appointment only Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. Everyone must comply with safety guidelines.
