AVON — The Maine School of Masonry is holding an open house from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21.
The school, at 637 Rangeley Road, provides a skill that will always provide a job and is in demand now in Maine and across the U.S., school officials said.
There is a shortage of skilled trained masons. Landscape, residential, and commercial contractors are looking for skilled masons, and Maine School of Masonry has 25 companies ready to hire graduates. The potential to start a business is also an option.
“The trades are booming right now, the need for masons is great,” school officials said.
The school is also holding classes on-site, and has housing available. More informatoin can be found at masonryschool.org.
