Walking Books Library offers access to free ebooks during pandemic

EAST DIXFIELD — While everything else is closing down, one opportunity is opening up. Walking Books Library offers Mainers an unlimited supply of ebooks available through a national project involving the New York City public libraries and First Book.
For those who are new to ebooks, this may be the time to try one out. Download the Open eBooks app on a smartphone, tablet or laptop, then call 207-491-3672 to get a free account code. Check out up to 10 books at once. No fines. The account is private.
The library is great for kids out of school or for anyone who has a little time on their hands right now. Walking Books Library automatically gives out an “all ages” account, but can do an account just for elementary school for those who prefer.
Walking Books Library is a project of Appalachia North: Teeny tiny projects that teach, transform or tickle you pink.
