MaineGeneral seeks artists for displays in Waterville, Augusta

Jan. 312020

AUGUSTA — MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Art Committee is seeking artists to display and sell their work at one of MaineGeneral hospitals. Those selected will have an opportunity to hang their art in the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta or the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville for a period of eight weeks this year.
The committee is looking for 15 to 20 pieces of art from each artist. Finished size of the artwork should range from 11-by-14 inches to 24-by36 inches; other sizes require approval of the Art Committee. MaineGeneral collects the purchase price from the buyer and passes on 80 percent of the proceeds to the artist, retaining 20 percent for the benefit of the hospital’s patients.
To be included in the committee’s preliminary list of candidates for consideration, reply to Volunteer Services by email at mgmcart.committee@mainegeneral.org or by phone at 207-626-1243. Include a description of the artwork that would be displayed, as well as an art resume or other relevant information. Artists with a website that showcases their work should provide the URL.
