Census jobs information session is at Rangeley library Jan. 29

RANGELEY — Jeff Seaberg, local representative for the U.S. Census 2020, will hold a meeting at the Rangeley Public Library at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, for anyone interested in working for the 2020 Census.
According to the official Census website, “Federal funds, grants and support to states, counties and communities are based on population totals and breakdowns by sex, age, race and other factors. Your community benefits the most when the census counts everyone. When you respond to the census, you help your community get its fair share of the more than $675 billion per year in federal funds spent on schools, hospitals, roads, public works and other vital programs.”
Organizers said that pay is $20 an hour and 58 cents a mile for mileage and those taking part also would be helping Rangeley and the surrounding communities by making sure that everyone is counted.
