Architectural historian Hanson to speak at Topsham Public Library Nov. 21

TOPSHAM — The Topsham Public Library will host author and architectural historian Scott Hanson at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 in the library’s Highland Community Room.
Hanson is a Maine-based architectural historian and preservation consultant who lives with his husband, Andrew, and four Maine Coon cats in Whitten House, a 19th century home in Topsham — which used to house the Topsham Public Library. Hanson grew up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y., before settling on the Maine coast. He has also appeared, along with Whitten House, on the television program “If Walls Could Talk” on HGTV.
Hanson will discuss his his latest book, “Restoring Your Historic House: The Comprehensive Guide for Homeowners,” a 720-page illustrated guide detailing Hanson’s 40-plus years of experience with historic preservation projects. Signed books will be available to reserve.
