Author Perry Great Falls Forum speaker Nov. 21 in Lewiston

LEWISTON — The 2019-20 season of the Great Falls Forum continues on Thursday, Nov. 21, featuring author Sarah Perry, on “After the Eclipse: Grief, the Law, and the Making of a Memoir.”
The program will be from noon to 1 p.m. in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library, 200 Lisbon St.
“A violent act is an epicenter; it shakes everyone within reach and creates other stories, cracks open the earth and reveals buried secrets.” So begins “After the Eclipse: A Mother’s Murder, a Daughter’s Search,” Perry’s account of her mother’s murder in Bridgton, when she was 12.
In the six-year process of writing the book, Perry interviewed many people involved in the investigation, including lead detective Walter Grzyb. For this month’s Great Falls Forum, Sarah and Grzyb will come together for a discussion of her mther, Crystal Perry’s, life and death, as well as their process of revisiting both for the creation of the book.
Admission is free to all Forum events and no reservations are required. This program is a bring-your-own brown-bag lunch event. Coffee, tea and bottled water will be available at the library.
