New Ventures free workshops aimed at microenterprise owners

LEWISTON — New Ventures Maine will hold a series of three free workshops designed to provide microenterprise owners the tools, skills and mentorship to build a successful digital presence.
The seiries, in partnership with the Association for Enterprise Opportunity and GoDaddy, will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on three Wednesdays, Nov. 6, Nov. 20 and Dec. 4, at at the USM-Lewiston campus, 51 Westminster St.
Small business owners as well as those looking to start their own venture, will have access to custom workshops created by GoDaddy and support from GoDaddy coaches in group and webinar settings. Additional resources include mentorship and networking opportunities.
Class titles are Foundations for Online Marketing, Creating Your Web Presence and Fueling Your Online Presence. Individuals may register for one session or all three. Topics of the workshops include branding, your domain name, evaluating your business, creating the right content, getting online and building a website, getting found using SEO, social media, e-commerce, among others. Business owners taking part in the program will also receive customized marketing education assets, access to webinars, blogs, and videos pertaining to course curriculum, as well as free GoDaddy products to establish an online presence.
“A requirement for today’s businesses to remain relevant, this series will help entrepreneurs create an online presence from foundational digital content creation through complete development of a functional website,” said Karin Petrin, microenterprise specialist for New Ventures Maine in Aroostook County, and the program coordinator. “We are excited to bring this free program and connection to global digital marketing experts to Maine’s entrepreneurs.”
