‘Secret Garden’ will be discussed by Paris Public Library book club Oct. 15

SOUTH PARIS — Paris Public Library’s multi-age Novel Idea Book Club will discuss a timeless and beloved classic for all ages — “The Secret Garden” by Francis H. Burnett — 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15.
First published as a book in 1911, it tells the story of 10-year-old Mary, an orphan from India, who comes to live with her often absent uncle in a lonely 100 room mansion on the Yorkshire moors. There she discoverers many mysteries to solve about an invalid cousin, an abandoned flower garden, and a distraught uncle.
