Free business startup workshops for those 50 and over scheduled

Those over 50 years of age and looking for guidance on how to start a business have the opportunity to attend free workshops in Lewiston and Farmington in the coming weeks.
Encore Entrepreneurs — those 50 and older — who are considering ways to supplement thier income or start a new chapter by starting a business may attend the free three-session classes hosted by New Ventures Maine from Oct. 16-30 in Lewiston and Nov. 5-19 in Farmington.
The class covers the business plan, marketing and cash planning, and is suitable for those thinking about or who are in the startup phase of a new business. The class will be led by Karleen Andrews, microenterprise specialist for the Western Region of New Ventures Maine.
The Lewiston sessions will be 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 16 through Oct. 30, at USM Lewiston/Auburn Campus, 51 Westminster St., Lewiston.
The Farmington sessions will be 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays Nov. 5 through Nov. 19, at New Ventures Office, 108 Perham St., Suite 2, Farmington.
