Maine delegation to hold service academy information night for students

PORTLAND — The offices of Maine’s congressional delegation will host a military academy seminar in cooperation with the Maine Maritime Academy, on Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Clarion Hotel, 1230 Congress St.
The session will be held beginning with registration at 5:30 p.m. and presentations beginning at 6 p.m. It will last until 8 p.m.
Students, parents and guidance counselors who are interested in the application process for the United States military, naval, air force, merchant marine and Coast Guard academies, state maritime academies as well as private military colleges, Reserve Officer Training Corps and National Guard scholar programs are encouraged to attend.
There will be a short presentation by representatives from the various organizations, followed by an opportunity to collect applications and brochures and speak with the individual representatives. Congressional aides from the offices of U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine; U.S. Sen. Angus King, I-Maine; U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree D-Maine 1st District; and U.S. Rep. Jared Goldenm D-Maine 2nd District, will be available to answer questions regarding the congressional nomination process.
