TOPSHAM — The Topsham Public Library is seeking members for its adult book groups, which are for a variety of interests and ages.
Groups include:
BOOK LOOK: Held on the first Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m. September through May, in the Highlands’ Kennebec Room. For more than 15 years, Topsham Library directors have been leading discussions about fiction and nonfiction books chosen by the groups’ participants. GREAT BOOKS: Held on the second Saturday the month at 10 a.m., year-round, the group includes discussion based on selections provided by The Great Books Foundation. The group is currently reading Great Conversations 5. For more information, contact Emma at emma@topshamlibrary.org.
MEN’S BOOK GROUP: Held on the third Thursday of each month at 4 p.m., September through Main, the book for the September is “The Dry,” by Jane Harper. For more information, contact Emma at emma@topshamlibrary.org.
MYSTERY READER’S ROUNDTABLE: Held on the second Tuesday of each month at 3 p.m. September through May, discussions focus on the themes and settings of the mystery genre, with hot beverages served. RARE READS: Held on the third Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m., September through May, the group discusses unusual and interesting popular fiction (and sometimes nonfiction), and is the only book group with an online discussion option. READING BETWEEN THE PANELS: Held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. September through May, the group discusses the writing, art, style and techniques involved in anything from classic comics to the newest standalone graphic novels.
