Upstream will collect Cobbossee Stream stories June 22

Jun. 102019

GARDINER — Upstream, a local non-profit working to restore sea-run fish passage and ecological health to Cobbossee Stream is collecting stories of people’s memories of growing up and working on Cobbossee Stream.
The juxtaposition of industry, nature and recreation has been part of the history of the stream in Gardiner for more than 200 years and the organization wants to capture it.
Upstream will record these stories and memories of Cobbossee Stream from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, in the Listening Tent during the Greater Gardiner River Festival on the pump house deck on the waterfront. The stories will be used to create the Cobbossee Stream Memory Map and stored in the archives room at the Gardiner Public Library.
