Turner library annual week-long book sale begins June 29

TURNER — The Turner Public Library’s annual book sale will be held from Saturday, June 29 through Saturdaywith the following schedule:
June 29 — 8:30 a.m. to noon
July 2 — noon to 3 p.m.
July 4 — 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
July 6 — 8:30 a.m. to noon (Epilogue Clearance Sale)
Books will be added to the sale throughout the week. Refreshments will be served Saturday, June 29. Tuesday’s sale will be held during library hours, giving shoppers an opportunity to explore the library and its many new offerings. Wednesday’s sale is in conjunction with the library’s July 4 Festival on the Green, which featires games, a parade, live music and strawberry shortcake. Thursday, July 6, will wrap up the sale when buyers may bring paper grocery-sized bags for the “Epilogue Sale.”
New this year will be a section devoted to local book group picks and Great American Reads. While some of the thousands of books will be separately priced, the majority will be priced at $1 for hardcover and 50 cents for paperbacks, with most children’s books priced at three for $1. On the final day, all books, regardless of original price, will be offered at $4 per bag.
The sale is held in the Community Room of the Leavitt Institute Building, 98 Matthews Way. The library welcomes donations of books in good condition. Donations may be left in the lobby of the Institute Building any time the library is open — Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m.; Fridays from 2 to 6 p.m.; Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon till noon. Do not leave textbooks, encyclopedias, cookbooks or magazines.
