Waterville Small Business Week is May 1 through 8

WATERVILLE — The first week of May will be Small Business Waterville week, which celebrates small business success in the greater Waterville Area. Small Business Waterville is presented by the Central Maine Growth Council, Harold Alfond Business Institute for Business Innovation at Thomas College, Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce and Waterville Public Library.

Sessions are free and open to the public except where noted.
The schedule is: Wednesday, May 1: 5:30-7:30 p.m. “Pardon the Innovation: An Entrepreneur Spotlight Keynote,” Derek Myska, co-founder of Ping Tank Harold Alfond Institute for Business Innovation, at Summit Room, Spann Commons, Thomas College 180 West River Road.
Friday, May 3: 6:20/7:20 p.m. Pecha Kucha, Mike Duguay, Harold Alfond Institute for Business Innovation, 6:20 p.m. reception, 7:20 p.m. presentations Ostrove Auditorium, Diamond Building, Colby College.
Monday, May 6: noon-1:15 p.m. Maine’s Strategic Plan for Economic Development, Commissioner Heather Johnson Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, Best Western Plus Grand Hotel 375 Main St., optional lunch $15 (no credit cards).
Monday, May 6: 4 to 5:30 p.m. “Monetize Your Idea In 5 Steps and $500,” Mike Duguay, Harold Alfond Institute for Business Innovation, Waterville Public Library 73 Elm St.
Tuesday, May 7: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. “Maine Virtual Job Fair,” hosted by Central Maine Growth Council, centralmaine.org/maine-virtual-job-fair.
Tuesday, May 7: 1 to 2:30 p.m., 2:30 to 4 p.m., “Overview of Financial Statements,” first session Allison Watson, Maine SBDC, QuickBooks intermediate user FAQs; second session, Sarah Wadick, OneRiver CPAs; at Mid-Maine Chamber, 50 Elm St. (come to both or either).
