Naturalist Heinrich to speak at Turner Public Library March 9

TURNER — Turner Public Library will host author and naturalist Bernd Heinrich at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at the Library, 98 Matthews Way.

Heinrich will speak on the how our relationships and perspectives of nature are changing. The program is free and open to the public thanks to a generous grant from an anonymous donor.
Heinrich is the author of numerous award-winning books, including “Winter World,” “Mind of the Raven,” “A Year in the Woods,” “One Wild Bird at a Time” and “A Naturalist at Large.”
Heinrich is professor emeritus of biology at the University of Vermont, distinguished by his research work in the comparative physiology and behavior of insects. His many years of research on ravens has culminated in numerous scientific papers on raven behavior and two books that put the research into a broad context.
Heinrich’s popular books range from biologic detective stories to scientific specialties of field to adventure and biography to human evolution. Many of these books are based on his original research documented in his more than 100 articles in refereed scientific journals.
