Kennebec Land Trust cabins will be offered for rent beginning Feb. 25

WINTHROP — Kennebec Land Trust will make two historic cabins at the Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary available beginning Monday, Feb. 25 to rent from July through October this year.
The renovations to the cabins will be unveiled on “Maine Cabin Masters” on the DIY network at 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, and cabins may be rented after the show airs.

The cabins are rustic, eco-friendly Maine camps on the shore of Cobbossee Stream in West Gardiner. The Wakefield family enjoyed the cabins for over 100 years before they were donated to the Kennebec Land Trust.
ll revenue from the cabins will support the long-term maintenance of the Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary, KLT programming including future workshops with guest artists, writers, and scientists, and the Kennebec Land Trust’s goals to protect wildlife habitat and water quality, provide low-impact recreation opportunities, and preserve local heritage and culture.
The trust is also hosting a party at 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Depot Pub in Gardiner to watch the “Maine Cabin Masters” show. All are invited. For more information on the cabins, visit www.tklt.org.
