LEWISTON – – Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice has announced the addition of three new hires to its leadership team, as well as a new physician in the hospice and palliative care program.
Kristin Melville has been named director of marketing and development, Katherine Sperl is chief administrative officer and Dottie Sargent Carroll, R.N., is director of compliance and performance improvement. Myra Ross, DO, is taff physician for the hospice and palliative care program
Melville is an experienced fundraising professional, having worked in nonprofit fundraising and community relations for more than 20 years.
Sperl was most recently director of human resources at Health Affiliates Maine. She has worked in human resources and educational roles for health care organizations for more than 20 years.
Carroll has spent her career in numerous healthcare administration and management roles, most recently serving as manager of healthcare quality at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta.

Ross most recently was medical director of hospice and palliative medicine for the VA Maine Healthcare System-Togus, where she oversaw its state-wide program. She is also the site director for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at Togus, a shared program with Maine Medical Center.
“Dr. Ross is an extraordinary person and outstanding Hospice and Palliative physician,” said Dr. Elizabeth Hart, director of medical services at Androscoggin. “We are so fortunate to have her on our team and in our community. We have been struck with her wise insights, warmth, intelligence and compassionate, grounded presence.”
Ross was one of the pioneer hospice and palliative medicine fellows in Maine,graduating as one of the first two fellows in the Maine Medical Center/VA Maine Fellowship program’s inaugural year, in 2014.
She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Maine Medical Center, where she also was chief resident.
Ross is originally from Van Buren, in Aroostook County, and expressed a “long treasured kinship with the Franco-American community,” growing up speaking Franglais within her family. Ross has experience in home hospice, general inpatient hospice, both outpatient and inpatient palliative care and is board Certified in hospice and palliative medicine.
